I hope that most of you are getting ready for a nice long weekend and have fun plans for the Labor Day weekend!!  I hope it doesn't rain!

I want to show you what I made from the tissue orbs that I found at the Walmart.
I made a pig!!
I think it is adorable!!

For the last several years(can't even remember how many) my room has had a pig theme.

Here are a few more pics of pigs in my room!

Now for something completely different!!

I have posted a new item in my TpT store. It is Get George To The Washington Monument.
It is a board game and an activity card game! It can be used as either one!
If you study George Washington this is a fun game for review or assessment. It also comes with 2 worksheets, 1 of which I am offering here as a freebie!! There is a fact and opinion page about Washington and the freebie is a George Washington reading for detail worksheet.

Here is your freebie!

Hope you enjoy and have an awesome Labor Day!

Strawberry and Margarine Bowl Hoarder!

Are you one of those teachers that saves everything?  Well, I have been one for years!! I save all those tubs that margarine comes in, frozen strawberries, and even the cold cut meats that come in those tubs with the lids! My family thinks I am nuts! I just hate to throw something away that could possibly be used for something else.

Whenever I have containers and anything of that nature, I always ask myself, "now what could I use this for", I am afraid it is a habit I will never be able to break.

Well this week I was glad I saved one of those strawberry bowls(I have a really nice set of them because strawberries are my absolute favorite!) because I am using it to store a new reading station activity that I have created! Look at the pics below and you will see what I did!

I made a new product to post in my TpT store. It is called Strawberry Sounds Y Sounds Like i, Y Sounds Like e and I am using the strawberry bowl as the container to keep the parts! I made a label to put on the lid and a couple of strawberries to put on the side. I cut out the strawberries that go with this sort around the box and around the strawberry so I could decide how I wanted to cut them out. I prefer cutting around the strawberry instead of the box. Students sort the words on the strawberries onto the mat that is correct. After sorting the words, they can then record their responses on the response sheet that is provided.

There is also a fill-in-the-blank page for students to complete.

I knew those strawberry bowls would come in handy!!

Click on the picture below and check out Strawberry Sounds at my TpT Store.
This item will be 1/2 price for the next 48 hours!!
$1.50

I am going to continue to add to my collection of items that I can recycle.
My family will just have to live with it!!  HaHa

Wedding Pics, New Products and a FREEBIE!!

Well the big Back To School sale at TpT is over!! I hope you got lots of great products to help you this school year!!

I have a few pics of my son's wedding in June. I have been waiting forever to be able to share them with you!! So here are a few!
I may be a little biased, but I think he is the most handsome boy man I have ever seen!! He will always be my baby!!

This is a pic of the beautiful church they were married in. It was beautiful!

Well as I continue to wipe away my tears(they grow up way too fast)I would like to show you some pics of some new products that I have posted in my TpT store.

My first new product is Fall Leaves Language and Math Activity Cards.

I made these cards in a leaf shape because I always liked to have unique things in my Literacy Stations. I think it grabs attention!!

I copied the leaves on card stock and cut out. I would also recommend laminating them for durability.
All students need is a notebook or a piece of paper and a pencil to complete the activity on the cards.

My next new product is Popcorn Plurals.
Students decide how to make words plural( by adding s, es, or changing y to i and adding es) and place them on the correct popcorn mat. Then they will record their answers. When you finish why not have some popcorn to share with students!!

Since I didn't have these ready for the beginning of the Back to School Sale at TpT, I will continue to have these 2 products on sale at 20% off for the next 48 hours!! They are now $2.40!! What a great price!! Click on the pictures above to go to my TpT store and check them out!

Now I want to leave a freebie for you!! These are 2 different name plates to use as displays for student work. One of my followers that is a home school teacher had an awesome idea!! Glue a magnet on the back of the name plate and use it to hang student work on the fridge at home!!
Click on either picture and it will take you to the freebie!!

Laminator and a FREEBIE!!

 Wow!
I hope you enjoyed the blog hop and the new website that we introduced! I am so proud to be a part of The Teaching Tribune!
We will continue to give out tips for beginning and even veteran teachers, so be sure and check back often.

My school district has already started back to school--for teachers. The students will begin Thursday. I can't believe it is already school time!!  Summer always seems to fly by!

Remember the Fellowes Laminator I received, well I finally got to laminate something and OH MY GOSH!! It is awesome and so easy to use!! If you are looking into buying a laminator the Fellowes Saturn 2 125 is awesome and does a great job! I was so excited to be able to laminate when I was ready instead of having to wait on the laminator at school. It even came with 2 different sizes of laminating pouches!

Okay, now to show you what I laminated. I have seen these cute name plates to hang in the hallway or classroom to display student work, so I decided to make my own!
First I copied it to white card stock and cut it out. I left a small white border around the pic because of the skinny arms and legs!
Second, I put it in the lamination pouch, laminated, and cut it out.
Third, I hot glued the clothespins on the back of the nameplate(you could paint the clothespins if you wanted too, I just didn't have time)
Next, I write student names on the nameplate using a sharpie, if you want to keep them year after year, use some type of dry-erase marker. I will give mine to students at the end of the year.
Finally, glue the clothespins to the hallway or classroom and start displaying student work!!
If these are used in the hall, it makes a quick display of student work. I don't know about your walls at school, but tape does not work well on mine, so this will keep student displays and work from falling in the hallway floor.

So here is a boy version and a girl version of the hallway nameplates you can grab for FREE!!

Click on either picture to grab yours!! If you would like these with a different pic, like animals, different kids, etc. I will take custom orders!

Hope you like them!!
